A man in our church decorating for Christmas |
 |
How will we get THIS decoration to stay up? |
 |
Lots of hands help to get the decorating done
quickly |
 |
I think this looks good here! |

Helping in the kitchen. Our church ladies
are very efficient. |

This needs just a little more salt! One
of the church ladies preparing the snacks for the fellowship time after
our Christmas outreach. |
 |
How's this trio for church greeters? |
 |
Here's the kitchen crew hard at work. |
 |
A 5-year-old Japanese girl in our church,
proudly wearing the new dress her mother sewed. She gave us a wink
when we pointed the camera in her direction. |
 |
Grandma invited her next door neighbor to the
Christmas outreach, and he came! |
 |
A young family who came to the Christmas
outreach on Dec. 15. It was their first time in church. |
 |
One of the "ice-breaking" games at our
Christmas outreach. These 3 ladies are competing to see who can peel
an apple and end up with the longest peel. |
 |
Group picture after the Dec. 15 Christmas
outreach. It was wall-to-wall people in our little house church. |
 |
Ron welcoming everyone to open their hearts to
the true meaning of Christmas. Many heard the message for the first
time in their lives. |
 |
We invited a special speaker, Brother Itoh from
Izumi, to share a Christmas message. He is originally from Hachinohe
and still has relatives in the area. Two of them attended the
Christmas outreach. It was their first time to come to church. |
 |
A few days before Christmas. Hannah got
so tired that she fell asleep perched on top of a box of clothes that
Debbie was sorting. |
 |
We made a LOT of waffles with the new waffle
maker that we got for Christmas! They're great warmed in the toaster
oven, and make for a quick breakfast. |
 |
Christmas Eve candle service. |
 |
Christmas day. After this photo we sang
Christmas Carols, Daddy told the Christmas story with picture cards, and
we opened presents. |
 |
Joseph got a new bag to put his school shoes
in. |

Making pizza for Christmas dinner. Turkey
is hard to come by here. Actually some of the ingredients for pizza
are not easy to get either, but Grandma sent us the cheese and olives. |

The finished product. |

Joseph trying out the "Fun Hop" toy. |
 |
We made a snowman in the afternoon. |
 |
Joseph and his snowman. The snow was too
hard to pack to make a big snowman, so we finally settled for a small one. |
 |
December 27, 2002. It will take a few
days, but this laundry WILL eventually dry! Our high this day
was around 20 degrees Fahrenheit. |
 |
This gives new meaning to the term "frozen
stiff." |
 |
I guess Samuel's pants aren't ready to wear yet
either. |
 |
Joseph enjoying some December snow. |
 |
Samuel- sure is easier coming down than
carrying this thing up the hill. |
 |
The littlest guy, Elijah, pulling the biggest
sled. |
 |
Joseph ice skating. (He's not quite ready
for any fancy spins on the ice, although he spun on his back end a few
times!) The outdoor city rink is free on Saturdays this winter. |
 |
Samuel (age 5) trying his hardest to stand up
on ice skates. This was his first attempt at ice skating. |
