Yesterday evening when I was reading to the kids Hannah (age 14) 
was doodling. Even when I first came to Japan 28 years ago I was always amazed at how well nearly all Japanese kids could draw. I think there is something to be said about how they teach art in Japan (or fail to teach it in American schools). I wish I could draw better.
